Hello everybody!

I recently bought a Pinnacle DC10 card, that comes with Studio 8.

The card captures in AVI with hardware MJPEG compression.

I can capture video with Studio 8 and then convert it ( with Studio8 ) to DVD-Mpeg 2.

Problem is, if I try to convert the MJPEG AVI with TMPGEnc, I get an "unsupported AVI format" error.

But I can play the AVI with the Media Player, thus the codec is installed.

How can I make TMPGEng convert my DC-10 MJPEG AVIs?

Thankyou.

Bye,
Max.

Well, I guess you have an MJPEG DirectShow filter installed, but not a VfW codec (VfW = Video for Windows).
If this is true, you can either
- install a VfW MJPEG codec
- use AviSynth for frameserving (open the AVI via DirectShowSource)

In the latter case you'd have to encode the audio separately, because there's no audio through DirectShowSource.

Hope that helps.

@SuperFresko

I also have a Pinnacle DC10 card. I only capture in Studio 8. The I use the AVI-MJPEG in other program, VirtualDub, TMPGEnc,.. with Morgan M-JPEG code, http://www.morgan-multimedia.com/ . On this side you can get a Free 60 Day Trial version for Win9x, me, NT, 2k, XP. This will get you running.

Did you try increasing VFW priority in TMPGEnc?
