philips DVD+RW D01 - Firmware to include +R??

Hi all,

I am hoping someone can help me. On my Works DELL PC I have a philips DVD+RW D01 that only supports +RW and not +R

I have heard that the retail version of the Philips (not sure of the model number) after a firmware update is able to write +R discs. I was wondering if anyone had any info about this or how I can do it?

It sounds like you have a first generation DVD+RW drive. If that's the case then you're out of luck coz they cannot be upgraded by firmware to be able to write to DVD+R discs.
