pal interlaced source

hey guys,

there is something from the cce guide that isn't clear to me:

Frame Rate = 25.000 fps: your source is PAL. If the frame type is Interlaced, start the preview again and watch closely if you see no horizontal black lines going through the picture then the frames are actually progressive and you're already done here. If there are such black lines, try changing the field order by selecting Video - Field Operation - Swap Field Order and run the preview again. If you can still see horizontal lines reset the Field Operation to None, otherwise leave it as it is.


i'm encoding dragon the bruce lee story and this is an interlaced pal source.. but when i select Video - Field Operation - Swap Field Order the interlacing is gone...

does that mean that if i save my project (.d2v) with Swap Field Order on i can encode it progressive?

to make things worse half thru it changes from interlaced to progressive...

when i swap field order the first part is without interlacing lines but the progressive part gets interacing lines ):

sounds like its a true interlaced source, and you should reencode it with the same field order settings that are in the source.
