n passes with different file names for avi, possible?

wenn doing n-pass encoding with the new divx version, do the avis of the (n>1) passes have to have the same filename?
or can a make 2.avi, 3.avi, .... to directly compare the passes?

No, they don't have to have the same filename. Only logfile has to be the same (and probably MV hints file if you use it).

It also works if you change video resolution between passes - try it! (don't use mv log file though if you change res)
