View Full Version : Nandub Crash

Greetings!
I am consistently getting a Access Violation crash in Nandub when I attempt to do a 2 pass compression with MPEG4v2. What specifically happens is this: I open a huffyuv avi, set nandub to compress with MPEG4v2, and hit two pass. A message window pops up stating: "Sylia Script Error. Member "UseHiQKF" not found" I hit OK, then the crash window pops up. The Sylia Script Error will pop up when using Divx, but it will continue to compress the video after clicking OK. Nandub seems to function normally when doing just one pass.
I really need to use MPEG4v2 and not Divx, so I would really like to get this problem solved. Does anyone have ideas?
Thanks!

first of all, nandub ONLY uses divx alpha. if you want to use whatever compression codec you choose, use virtual dub. nandub won't even LET you choose a different codec. i don't know why you want to use an inferior codec anyway. if my memory serves me correct, the error you're getting has to do with mixing up nandub program files with virtual dub...or i think it might have to do with clicking on a shortcut to the nandub executable(nandub.exe). i tried creating a shortcut to it and i remember i ran into problems when i didn't directly click on the actual program file. either stop clicking on the shortcut, or extract a fresh version of nandub and don't mix vdub and nandub files together...it's been about a year and a half scince i was dealing with that issue so my memory is a bit foggy..i forgot why i even mixed vdub and nandub files together in the first place...tell me if this fixed the problem..i'm pretty sure that's what you did cause a straight up version of nandub doesn't even have a "compression" option like virtual dub has...it just automatically uses divx.

Thanks for the reply. Nandub does, however, use Divx 3.11a and MPEG4v2. I need to use mp42 for the sake of consistency (all other encodes in the series I am encoding are mp42). I have not mixed vdub and nandub files either, but I do thank you for the ideas.
I partially solved my problems since my original post. I installed nandub via Gordian Knot and assumed Divx 3.11 was installed as well. I installed 3.11 individually and the crash problem went away. I am still getting the Sylia script error, however.

well shit...oh yeah, i forgot that you could select mpeg 4 under sbc settings...anyway..that error is annoying..i swear i fixed it by either extracting a clean version of nandub...anyway..as long as everything works well i guess there's no problem..did you download nandub from this website? maybe try that.

Yes, very annoying!!
I was using Nandub that was installed as part of GKnot 0.27. When I went back to Nandub 0.23 I no longer got the sylia script error, but I would like to use the most current version. I will re-download just nandub and install like you suggest; who knows, maybe there was a problem with the GKnot install. Thanks for your help!

Marked!
Yes, that was exactly it. I unzipped the file into the existing folder, rewriting all files, and bingo! Thanks for all your help, Hectic.
