Divx 5.03 ... a new feature to add

Hi everyone. I tested the new version of divx and I must say that it works very well. I tested the quality and it rocks!

Now I tried to do a 5 pass VBR of a movie. Let's go: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th ok, when I was encoding the 5th pass, my system crashed (due to hardware incompatibilities in my system, so once every 2 or 3 days it crashes, it doesn't depend on DivX).

I thought that restarting the 5th pass, it should work again.
Instead it didn't work ("Problem reading LOG file"). So, i must reencode the file.

Is it possible to create a "Safe mode" where once every pass is completed, a copy of the Log file is performed automatically?

just backup the divx.log
divx deletes the logfile when starting a new pass.
if your pc crashes simply take the old backup to restart the latest pass....

Yes, I sayed "AUTOMATICALLY". I usually create a Job List in Virtual Dub and start it before going to work, so when I return, I should have all files already encoded (or PC frozen :confused: )

I concur. It's rather annoying that the previous log file disappears during an encode. There should be a previous and a new log file. Basically, I should have the option to cancel a virtual dub job without losing the log file which is the essence of multiple passes. I don't even know how they haven't run into this problem while testing the codec.
