Hi, I just got a DVD burner and have been trying to back up one of my DVDs in order to test it out, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I checked over all the guides, but none of them seemed to explain how to simply copy a dvd.
First off, I've ripped the dvd to my hard disk, so I have the vob files and an IFO file. Now how can I burn this? I tried nero, but it told me that I needed a BUP file. What is that? And when I try IFO edit, it just seems to give me all sorts of error messages when I do things. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ok im not going to say read the guides(but ?)
if you ripped all the files from the dvd you would have a .bup file!
it is a backup of the .ifo files
what movie are you trying to backup?
is it less than 4.37 gig
if it is use your burning software (search the forum)
if you dont find it (search the forum)
you will learn everything you need to know by (guess)
best proggy is dvddecrypter iso mode
then you can write with the same proggy iso/write

I agree, for testing find yourself a DVD-5 movie, and simply read/write with DVD decrypter in iso mode.

Alright thank you, the problem was I ripped the movie with Smartripper the same way that I always have, so I didn't get the BUP file.
One more question now. Is it possible to copy multiple dvds onto one dvd-r and have it play on my standalone? I don't really care about keeping the menus, and I know the data will fit onto one disc, as what I want to copy is very short.

i think youll have to use an authoring program like spruce or maestro
to put multiple movies on dvd
i know spruce does it but never tried to do it
