I didn't think you got 'em, but I got one :(
playing in mplayer2 and WMP, whenever I get to a certain frame, the video stops but the audio carries on. I tried to use the avi freeze frame fizing tool, but that just crashes.
The video plays fine in Nandub, just not in a media player.
I got rid of those files and I'm going to jsut start again from the VOBs (at 25fps endoding speed, I can afford to :P). But does anybody know of this problem and any possible fixes?
Ta,
Jim.

hehehe i find it funny that u talk about those freeze frames...
Cause i got my first EVER tonight!!
I could have write the same topic as you..
Have u tried it in BSPlayer? it does a beautiful *Stroboscop* effect!
I trashed the movie...
I dunno how to help for that.. i just wanted to say that ur not alone.
I must say that i installed the DivX 5.03 earlier this weekend and removed it after some crappy tests. Then i re-installed 5.02. Then my freeze frames appeared... hope its not related.
Have you?
Good Luck!

is "smooth playback" enabled in your codec settings? if it is, disable it! start menu, divX--->DivX or whatever--->DivX Decoder options
For lots of people, it solved the problem....

Yep, I had smooth playback enabled.
I've switched it off, but I ditched the avi's and I'm starting again.
So what do those options do then?

I now really think that a good solution for DivX502 playback problems is to use FFDSHOW to decode divx, even XviD etc etc....

what encoder version did you use??
Because I found out that DivX 5.03 encoded movies cannot be played with an older DivX decoder, even NOT WITH 5.02.
BUT I don't know why it's like that, perhaps 5.03 is complete crap!

There's a bug in the DivX 5.0.2 Pro Bundle codec that prevents the Direct Show FrameGrabber from working. This can manifest itself in movies that were encoded with earlier version of DivX as well since they are decoded by DivX 5. DivX 4.16 to 5.0.1 don't seem to have the problem.
and what goes for Divx5.03 thats has too many bugs and crappy algoes

alternative solution: use ffdshow for playback.
