View Full Version : How to prevent Xvid builds to take over the dshow rendering?

Hi!

I'm using Koepis unstable 24012003 for testing and to watch Nics Dec-291202 from Koepis page. Everytime I install a new Xvid build it takes over the dshow rendering and I have to un/reinstall Nics Decoder.

I tried to change merit values via zoomplayer but there is only one decoder registered; so there is nothing for me I can do.

Is there a way to do this in a better way?

Thank you...

P.S.: Perhaps I'm stupid but I did NOT find anything about this using the search function...

Both Nic's decoder and XviD's default decoder have the same filename: xvid.ax. So when you install a new XviD build, Nic's xvid.ax is overwritten by XviD's xvid.ax.

There is one simple solution: install Nic's decoder, make a backup of windows/system32/xvid.ax and each time you install a new build, copy the backup to windows/system32 to overwrite XviD's default decoder.
