After installing the codecs .. i lately started receiving weird messages like "Decoder dll not found" etc .. this only happens when i'm logged on as administrator in winXP .. the dlls are there .. and i can use both for encoding in Virtual Dub .. Connected as a common user this does not happen ..

EDIT -

The message shows when trying to see the movie in ZoomPlayer (latest release) and also happens when i click the file and windows tries to preview the movie in it's detail panel .. This doesn't happen with Virtual dub .. there the movies can be opened

To get a proper, clean installation of your winXP system, you should always login as administrator before installing software, and make that software available to everyone aftwards.

In that way, you won't get those strange errors (administrator should have _all_ privileges to use other user's stuff).

[I know that i write it too easy here, but basically the idea is important - no matter how much work that means.]

Hi there koepi (nice xvid bilds btw) .. I install everything as administrator .. (i also work as admin, always). I've been testing this problem further .. and 1st of all i thought that was Zoomplayer problem (messing with the directshow reg) then i uninstalled it .. and the problem was not it.. the problem happens like this .. I install xvid (your latest build) and it works fine.. then i install latest divx 5.03.. Xvid stops working, in Zoomplayer and in windows preview panels ("decoder dll not found"), divx works fine .. but now i install xvid again .. and divx stops working?? Is my directshow messed up? (another thing .. i recently uninstalled fddshow alpha..),

cheers :D
