Yeah, so GordianKnot used to always work 100% perfectly for me. Until I reinstalled Windows XP. I installed both GKnot 2.7 packages as is, except instead of installing avisynth 2.07, I installed avisynth 2.5 immediately after, and properly replaced the MPEG2DEC.DLL/decomb.dll binaries with their YV12 versions.

I ripped Cowboy Bebop using DVDDecrypter and got the d2v file using DVD2AVI 1.76. Unfortunately when I try to open this file in Gordian Knot, it says "File is not a valid dvd2avi project (v1.76), avi or avs file!". I never used to have this problem on my system which had Gordian Knot 2.6 previously installed then upgraded to 2.7. Yet, a friend of mine, does have this problem when he upgraded.

I did a quick look around the forums and I didn't see any relevant matches to what I am experiencing.

Ideas?

I also have this same problem, actually just yesterday :P. I finished reinstalling Windows XP, installed the GK System Pack 1.0, and then the Rip Pack 0.27. Ripping and DVD2AVI process was okay. The problem starts when I wanted to subtract the Subtitles using VobSub 2.23 (comes along in the System Pack). It identifies there's 2 subtitles (english and Chinese), then when it was finish subtracting it, usually it automatically loads to the VobSub Configure. However, it didn't, reversing from what it told earlier, there's no sub detected. There are the sub and idx file, but when i tried to open them using Resync, it was empty.

Then, I went through opening the d2v file I created before in GK, But it said the error you mentioned above. I've ripped another dvd but it went well, it's just this one is abit odd :(. Never had this problem before .. hehe.

After abit of "reasearching" in my computers, I knew what was actually happened. I have 2 computers at home, one of them has the dvd. After I ripped it on the computer with the dvd, I also created the d2v file on that same computer. Because I'll be using the dvd computer most of the time, I transfered all of the files to the other computer for encoding. When I tried to open the d2v file on the Gordian Knot in the other computer, it shows the error message above. So, I tried to redo the d2v file using dvd2avi, and it worked! I transfered using regular Ethernet Network, using a Netgear RP114 router.

All I can say is when you want to encode, do everything on the computer you're going to encode to :) (Sorry if this sounds "lame" :p , but this is what I got from my experience and just sharing it with the others). Hope this helps someone ..

d2v file hase a full path to your VOBs. That's probably what changed when you moved your files from one computer to another.

Just to let you know, you're definitely not alone with this problem.
It would appear AviSynth 2.5 doesn't mesh so well with GKnot 0.27.
Are there any success stories out there so we can probe you for
your procedures?

If you found a solution, PowerMacG4, I'd love to hear it.
