Please help, i've just started XviD encoding & completed my first dvd rip. The DvD was 29.970fps but I noticed that most avi's on the net are 23.976fps how do I make my XviD 23.976fps?

Also I coded my XviD keeping the 29.970fps but it was out of sync, I followed the guide but I dont understand why it went out of sync, anyone know why & how can I fix it?

in dvd2avi you need to check "Video" --> "Field Operation" --> "Forced FILM"

using the koepi october stable build it worked perfectly :)

they follow a procedure called ivtc.

ok, cheers guyz, gonna check out these guides now....

BTW the film is 29.970fps NTSC thats why I didn't check the force film option, I'm still unsure what all this means but as i'm reading through all this stuff & experimenting i'm learning more..

p.s anyone know why the sound is out of sync?? my picture quality is perfect! just gotta get the sound sorted!

seriously, follow the guide/guides, I was completely new to any of it and the guide helped me make a perfect rip

um, well i'm using gordian knot, converting ac3 to mp3 via lame etc u know the drill, when I multiplex the video & sound in nan dub & play it back it's slightly out lips move first sound after, it's less than a second but it's noticible.

hope this makes more sense :o i'm not too good at this :)

Hi,
Did you take note of the delay value of your AC3 file after demuxing in DVD2AVI? You need to consider that value when you mux your video with your audio in Nandub.
