I have several authored films that I have made for my company and was wondering was it possible to place some protection on them without having to demux them and reauthor with maestro.

To be honest, there is no viable protection which can currently be placed on a DVD which cannot easily be circumvented by freeware DVD ripping software. Add to this the fact that Macrovision costs a fortune to obtain valid licensing for implementation, and that producing your disks with oversize sectors is not possible for general DVD-R disks. CSS can only be implemented with top-end authoring software, such as Maestro or Scenarist, and if you do not use this software, the duplication facility would be able to implement it - but what is the point when, as I said, it costs a small fortune and can easily be circumvented by freeware?

Sorry, but I think you will have to resign yourself to managing without unviable protection schemes.

Regarding the reauthoring issue, to the best of my knowledge, Macrovision and CSS would require remuxing anyway.
