many of you may have seen that there is a new DIvX version ... 5.0.3 , and this ver. you have a new future that is called Nth Pass™ encoding ... that some thing like 1 pass , and 2 pass encodeing , but just many more times :) let me Quote :

Nth Pass™ encoding. Another new addition to the rate control arsenal, Nth Pass™ encoding takes advantage of information available from previous analysis (or analyses) of the video sequence. Nth Pass encoding uses information garnered from previous passes through the video sequence, which can improve quality with each pass. There are four main steps to Nth Pass encoding.

1. Analysis (the first pass)
2. Map generation (where the results of analyses are processed)
3. Strategy generation (strategist examines map of the video sequence and creates a strategy that will best achieve the three VBV RC requirements)
4. In-loop nth pass rate control (uses information from the map and strategy to effect rate control that best fulfills the three requirements)

Looks like this can improve the quality of the divx movies , but it will take longer to make a HQ movie ... so G.knot is the best to to make evertthing go atomatic :D .. ,but it's not added support for it yet ... ,so when will we see this future in g.knot ?

,and by the way ... THANX for a GREAT TOOL ... I love your 0.27

Might I enquire as to what that link has to do with adding Nth Pass™ encoding capabilities to GKNOT? I read through the first three or four posts and mostly they were talking about some program called DVX and DVD2AVI.

maby you should have read the 5 last post on that topic ?? This program ( DVX 3.0 RC9 ) that's to much unlike Gordian Knot has automated the process o0f makein a DivX movie ore a Xvid, and it does support the new future Nth Pass™ in the new DivX 5.0.3 Pro , so it has something to do in this topic ... Tnakx for the tips for this program by the way ... I'll run some test on it tonight :) ... maby doom9.net should have a test on it , and have it along in the DivX guides as a alternativ to G.knot ? , as I can read out of the topics in the PlanetDVB Board it seems like DVX 3.0 is under more development then G.knot , so it should have less bugs , and the new futures in new DivX codecs should be relased not loong after a new DivX codec release ...

maby some of you other are keen about testing it ?
Here's a link to the last RC version : http://www.planetdvb.net/dvx/preview/dvx30rc9.exe

:D great you must dl billou'z .net framesh$*ů$ (50 Mo) in order to encode with a 300 Ko soft!!

It's not that I dont trust billou'z progs (for example sql server :D :µD lol ). But I find it anoying....

PS1 : It's not the right place to discuss that : scuze modo....
