Begginer Question : DV and FireWire

Hi all

Is a FireWire and a DV port the same?
Can I capture my DV videos with the FireWire port of a Soundblaster Audigy?

This is a simple begginer question. Sorry.

Yes, they are the same. It is also called i.Link by Sony. The correct name is IEEE 1394, commonly referred to as Firewire (I believe that name was introduced my Apple/Macintosh, or that's the first place I heard of it). The connectors can be 4-pin or 6-pin (only 4-pins transfer datta, the other 2 on the 6-pin plug are to transfer power). You can capture your video through your SB card, no problem.
