Insert new chapters w/o reauthoring?

Hello. Tried to read every post on chaptering in this forum, but couldn't find any mention if new chapters can be inserted into an already authored DVD, without actually reauthoring. Found a few threads which explains adding 'missing' chapters back in, but not for adding chapters when there were no chapters at all to begin with,..ie, the person who authored it didn't use any chapters.

If this is, or is not possible, please let me know.
