Hi again,
yesterday I ended my first DVD encoding with CCE+Maestro.
First of all I must admit I would have never achieved it hadn't I read the posts in the forum. Thanks to everybody...
I checked that on my two DVD players (standalones) I own, a Cyberhome 402 and a Marantz 4100OSE. I can easily navigate the menus with the remote in the Cyberhome, but I can only navigate the root menu with the Marantz... I've followed the Maestro guides here, so what can be happening here? Would you say it's a problem with the Marantz player or with my Maestro project? I can play commercial DVD's without a single trouble on the Marantz, so I don't think it is really related to the player? Then the question would be: is there any place in Maestro where I can(should explicitely tell him to activate the cursor of the remote to navigate through the menus?
Thanks...

did u remember in maestro in the button tab there is what looks like a tic tac toe board, u have to enter the number of the button u have next to the button ur working on in the corresponding space.

ex. if i have 2 buttons one on top of the other then i would first start with button 1 highlighted then in the tic tac toe area put a 2 in the box under the 1 that is grayed out and do the same procedure for button 2....when ur done do the preview to make sure buttons work.

would be easier with pictures to explain!

if u did all this and it dont work then i am not sure of the prob.

Yes I did assign numbers to the buttons... actually I used the 'auto assign' feature of Maestro, which produces a fairly reasonable navigation scheme. The only thing is that I messed around several times with the whole project (because that was my first encoding) and *maybe* I've lost something during the game... but I doubt it.
BTW, how do you check buttons work in preview mode? I haven't seen any kind of remote emulator that let's you play with cursors.
Finally, I've checked the DVD on a third player and found the same problem... :(

Ho ho hoo...
well that video stuff worked out. Thanks Benf2. Still, I have another question: I've created a menu with one 'Play movie' button and two audio track buttons (english and spanish). I finish the project and do a preview to see how it works. Since I've checked the video stuff you mentioned, now I can navigate the buttons in preview mode with the cursor Maestro displays, and navigation is ok. However, bot the 'Return' and 'Enter' keys are greyed out in the audio buttons, and I can only press the 'Enter' key once on the 'play movie button'... Since I don't want to waste a DVD-R for that, can you tell me if that's ok? I thought that when I move to one of the audio buttons, the 'Enter' key should be workable in order to being able to make the ausio selection. If I'm right, could you explain how can I activate the 'Enter' key for the audio buttons? Thanks...
PD: I hope you understand this explanation... it's slightly messy :(
