Can a XCD disc able to play in a DVD Player? EVEN though the movie file is in .avi format....

Nope. At least with standard DVD players. Can't talk about the new DivX-capable DVD players (such as the Kiss DP-450), since no one has tested them with a XCD yet.

I have been in contact with hardware producers already on this issue, but without success until today. But dont expect me to stop trying to convince them they have to support other containers and mode 2 form 2 ( XCD ) to make all their customers happy.
A conversion tool allowing DivX3 movies to be converted into MPEG4 ISO ( see XviD section ) could play an important role here, as -h was pointing out the file size wll grow by about +10 - 15 % on conversion ( lossless process, no reencoding ). If the producers wanted to ship such a tool to their customers they had to find a way to allow burning of 700 MB + 15% ( = ca. 800 MB ;) ) onto one normal CD ....
