Since I'm having several problems I figured I would put this in General since it doesnt really fit in any one forum.

I'm trying to make a rip of the Ronin DVD and I've encountered some strange errors. Firstly, DVD Decrypter, vStrip, and SmartRipper all say the movie is 2:01:12 long, but when I rip it, it comes out to 2:01:19. Also when I play the movie on my set top DVD player, it says 2:01:12.

I can't find anything added to the rip thats not in the main movie but this has caused me some problems with subtitles.

Ronin has a lot of French dialogue with forced subs so I ripped the forced subs with SubRip, but some of them are way off sync with where they should be. The subs come up fine on a DVD player. I think the 2:01:19 length is what is messing up the subs but I have no idea why.

I've ripped the DVD using 3 different ripping programs and they all say 2:01:12 but the VOBs are 2:01:19 after ripping and the subs are off sync. Actually only some of them are off sync (towards the end), most of them are timed as they should be.

Does anyone know what could be causing this error? It's driving me nuts. This is the only DVD where I've had this problem.

Thanks :)

What region is the DVD? I ripped R1 just fine, everything synch'ed up good. Use DVD Decryptor first, it's hands-down the best. Make sure you're using IFO mode as well (not File or ISO). The only thing I can suggest if everything is still out of synch (after different ripping tries) is to manually adjust the timing of the subtitles. Could be tedious, but if it's the only way....

It's R1 and I did use DVD Decrypter in IFO mode. It still comes out weird. I didn't want to have to edit the subtitles if I don't have to because it would be a pain in the ass. But I guess unless someone here has an answer I will have to.
