Hey, I hope someone can help me with my problem, and to help you help me, I'll post the very detailed procedure I followed to arrive at the point I am not now.
(1) Copied target DVD's contents to my harddisk.
(2) Created DVD2AVI project, demuxxing the DTS audio.
(3) Made notes of what extras I would be able to keep, and what extras I had to disgard, removed the files for the extras, leaving the VTS_0X_0.vobs.
(3) Encoded the video in CCE, with the following settings:
3 pass VBR, 2000min, 4650avg, 9000max
Video Settings:
Add Sequence End Code: ON
Upper field first: ON
Progressive Frames: ON
Linear Quantinization Scale: ON
ZigZag Scanning Order: ON
DVD Compliant: ON
DC Precision: 10
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
GOP Settings:
M: 3
N/M: 5
SEQ Header Every 1 GOP(s)
(4) Took the encoded video, and ran pulldown.exe on it with -prog_frames = true.
(5) Imported pulled down video and DTS into Maestro. Compiled the project, which resulted in the output of a new VTS Set. (VTS_01) Copied VTS_01_1.VOB through VTS_01_4.VOB over the old VOBs.
(6) Ran IFOUpdate, pointed it to the old ifo and the new ifo, corrected VTS Sectors, Made region free.
(7) Attempted to play new files in WinDVD.
My problem is as follows: When I select to play the movie from the menu, it begins to play, but the audio is very stuttery, scratchy, and just plain wrong. However, if I load the VTS set manually into WinDVD, they play fine.
I've been messing with this for the better part of the evening, and tried some variations, including reauthoring the vobs, using IfoEdit's Get VTS Sectors after using IfoUpdate, but to no avail, nothing has worked thus far. Hopefully someone can shed some light on what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks in advance.
