View Full Version : Load sub in MPC?

Is there a way that I can load a sub after the AVI is loaded?
I have a french movie with subs (SRT files) in both swedish and english, but it seems that MPC only loads the sub filter if it finds a sub file with the same name as the AVI? That would mean I have to rename one of the sub files, just to get the filter loaded so that I can load the other one?

It is not MPC that loads the subs when you play a movie, it's either :
* DirectVobSub
* FFDShow
Now, if you want to load subs after the beginning of the movie, you have to open the configuration panel of one of these two filters, go to the subs section, and select a subtitle file.

The sub gets loaded by the VobSub filter. Problem is that that filter isn't available if the sub file isn't named correctly.
What I would like to do is loading the sub file manually in MPC. I can't find a way to do that.

go in programs -> vob sub -> direct vob sub configure, general tab, and select "always load". Now, each time you play a movie, the Vobsub filter is load ( green arrow in the systray ), so you can load a subtitle

2. Click the Playback page, set renderer to VMR7 or VMR9, the Menu/File/Load Subtitles item will become enabled.
But of course the way Manao recommended is also an option, you can use the filters too.

Thank You, that was what I was looking for.
Btw; Video renderer was set to "System default". What does that mean?
