Hello. I preparing all your DVD belong to us. Audio tracks include both 5.1 and a 2.0 english version. Is there any reason to keep the 2.0 version?

I mean, my main theater has 5.1 sound decoder equiped, but upstairs is just a regular stereo with no decoding. Will I have poor results playing 5.1 sound on regular stereo with no decoding? Audio is quite important to me when watching a movie. Should I keep the 2.0 track for upstairs viewing, or save the bits for the movie encode?

Thanks.

hi,

this is indeed a good question but i think you shouldn't keep the 2.0-track.

i mean, if audio is very important for you, you certainly have a good dvd-player with a good integrated decoder. those can downmix the 5.1-track very good to 2.0. but if this is not the case and you only have a cheap player in your stereo theater, you should keep the 2.0-track. it is intended to be played back in stereo so this would give you the best quality.
