I read a lot of guides, and now I can remove audio, subtitles, angles, and decress the size of movie, and Authoring in dvd maestro.

but I canīt remove only the extras and leave just the movie and subtitles, in the cases where movie + menues are less than 4,3G, I mean take the movie and extract the extras, only that.
but when I try this, I load the video_ts.ifo in powerdvd but show me an error message "the sistem can not find the specific file".

I donīt know what is wrong but I used many of guides for example "How to keep only the main movie of a DVD" and not work, and "DVD -> DVD-5 guide" but only explain whow extract the subtitles and audio, but not extras, and in this case, the dvd maestro create the ts files, then I havenīt any problem.

please help

Perhaps you're not reading the 9->5 guide closely enough. It explains how to deal with extras and then encode the movie and put the whole thing back together.

Oh, I see. Sorry, I don't do that. There's certainly no shortage of those who do though.

Hi first thanks for read my post and answare me.
now for example in the guide "dvd -> vd-5" in the basic guide for ifoedit. in the step 5 say "Since the movie is still too large we have to transcode the video stream to bring the size down", what is the next step if is not too large?????

I think u want the doom9 guide titled- Creating a DVD that contains just the main movie
OR the DVD -> DVD-5 guide
both are in the ifoedit section. just skip the sections on transcoding and remuxing.
Can't you do it all in DVD dycrypter in IFO mode. Select everything and then deselect the PGC's you dont need. Go to stream processing, deselect the audio/subs you dont want. then rip it.
Is this correct? Im verey new to this but i seem to remember backing up a couple movies this way.

hi bigpinky.

I try that you say but not work to me, I donīt know what I doing wrong but in powerdvd I obtain an error " the system can not find the specific file", this hapend whit the original ts.ifo file, because if I skip the sections on transcoding and remuxing, then is not create a new fs.ifo file, that is why I need used the original, but if I play the movie starting whit the Vts_01_0.ifo, then I have no problem.
the problem is the ts.ifo

Here is a way that usually always works, it will lose all the menus and extras though (Im not sure if thats what you want as your english is horrible:) )

You need the following tools
DVD Decrypter
Ifoedit
imgtool .89 or some other burning software.

1.Open DVD Decrypter select ifo mode (in settings configure it to rip all the restrictions and make sure its set to split at 1 gig)

2.Select the vts containing the main movie make sure all the chapters and cells are checked

3.Click the stream processing tab, check Enable Stream Processing and Direct Stream Copy.

4.Select the audio and subtitle tracks you want to keep.

5.rip it to the hard drive. -- C:\temp\VIDEO_TS\

6. If it isnt vts_01_** (i.e. vts_02_**) change the names of all the files so it looks like following
VTS_01_01.VOB
VTS_01_02.VOB
VTS_01_03.VOB
VTS_01_04.VOB
VTS_01_05.VOB
etc..

7. Delete all the ifos and bups so that folder looks like example in step 6. IT SHOULD ONLY HAVE THE VOB's

8. Open ifoedit click "Create IFOs" select the folder their in. Make sure its set for the destination to be the same as the source folder. When its done quit (i dont remember if you have to save or if it is automatic).

b. I had problems with green crappy subtitles but if you open original ifo (not the 1 you made), click on VTS_PGCITI in ifoedit and select "copy colors from this PGC" then open the new ifo you made and click on VTS_PGCITI, then select "copy colors from this PGC" it will make the subtitles display as they did on original dvd.

9. Open ifoedit again open your new VIDEO_TS.IFO select "Get VTS sectors" have it correct all your ifos then quit. Open ifoedit once more and select "Get VTS sectors" to check that the changes were saved it should do nothing, now your ready to burn.

10. I Use windvd and select play dvd from folder on hard drive, i dont actualy tell it what ifo to open up. It should start at beggining of movie, quickly check that it plays all the way through.

11. I use imgtool .89 to create an ISO, then use DVD Decrypter to burn.

This has all been posted in the forum and guides on doom9.

You want the ifoedit basic guide, or mabye the dvd9>2DVDR guide with out the steps to split movie
You can skip the step about striping menus if you want and have space.
You can skip the steps 5 & 6 if you arent going to reencode the video.
DVD Decryter can strip the user prohibitions and region info so skip those steps.

Or you can follow the method i gave you. But do another run IN FILE MODE to get vts_01_00.*** and the VIDEO_TS.***. (THE MOVIE IS IN VTS_01_01 RIGHT???) Dont delete the the ifos or bups, Dont make new ifos, Dont rename the vob files. Then use ifoedit to get vts sectors the ifo. basicly the same as the ifoedit guides but i like to use DVD Decryoter to do as many steps as possible to save me some time.

If that doesnt work search the forum for dvds that are similar in layout and see how they did it. Thats what i do.
