i capture some video off tv and i was wondering if anyone had any recco's on filters to use on encoding to divx and/or svcd. My audio is wonderful, but the picture is just a lil grainy. good color, but i would just like it a little sharper. thanks guys!

For overall sharpening, nothing beats Unfilter(+,+).

I like PeachSmoother() as my favourite filter for analog captures...it removes some of the noise (not too much to ruin it though) and seems to stabilize the picture.

FluxSmooth() or Convolution3d() is good if you need better compressibility, but it will make the image smoother (but not too much depending on settings). I like to use it when my source is digital (cable) as it helps get rid of the pixelation.

For a plain old temporal smoother, TemporalSoften2() works quite well.

There are just so many Avisynth filters..and they are all great. Spend some time in the Avisynth forum, browsing the most popular threads, there are new filters coming out every hour!
