windows xp.
virtualdub crash when using GMC.
first pass is ok, but second crash at the beginning.

i have no probleme when I use GMC.
Do you use Hinted ME , for you second pass?
What's Virtualdub error?

Which version of XviD do you use?

Latest builds contain again activated GMC (e.g. Koepi's 15012003) but it seems that from 13012003 on two-pass encoding is somewhat broken. Check the other threads in this forum.

Builds before 15/01/2002 contain no usable GMC, so just don't use it.

I got the same proglem but only with the koepi build with umaniacs build it dosn't crash... is this something do deal with the used compiler and compiler's options?

I tried the latest version, 15/01/2003
No hint ME.
when GMC choosed, virtualdub crashed...
invalid memory access.

I will try once more on windows2000

blah, don't use GMC, anyway GMC doesn't works very good...

That's what I said. Don't use GMC for now. The XviD developers are working on a real good implementation, far better than the DivX 5 solution, so just be patient a few more days. Anyway: Do you need GMC at all? IMHO, the much more important B-frames are working pretty well and also QPel has gone a long way to where it is now, so play with this.
