4x riteks on sony dru500a

Does anyone know if there is going to be a firmware fix to allow the ritek 4x dvd-r to actually be written at 4x instead of 2x?

I have a sony DRU-500A, but I'm not ready to jump on 4x discs yet. I spend much more than a half hour to prepare my discs, so I can wait the extra 15 minutes a 2x entails. :)

I burn the 1x riteks at 2x, fwiw.

I'm interested to find out, though, so I can eventually get the 4x's when the price drops a bit.
