Cutting a VOB with Chopper XP

although the program has some bugs (@least when I run it on my machine with XP Pro), it is very good to cut a vob to fit the movie on a DVD when the size is a tad over the infamous 4.38GB limit. Thx to COOL2 for providing the link to this program.

Ifoedit DVD player didnt like the resulting vob file. it just froze. I then opend the edited VOB file in Vobrator and then saved in a diff file and renamed the saved file. That did the trick. Ifoedit player played the edited vob with no problems.

People who have the need to cut a vob (not just at the cell level) may want to chk this program.

A few people have brought this up. Whenever I cut the vob at the end of the movie, and then previewed the movie, it froze on me too. That's why I strategically chose to strip audio out after the cut to update the VTS_0*_0.IFO so that I would get a correct end point sector. It works for me all the time. Other than that, I don't have any other theories at the moment.

Haven't done a cut on the end of a .VOB file with XP Chopper but with some tricks it seems to work.
My intrest in this program was to cut off the beginning of the first .VOB file (nasty WB logo).
But if I do that, I also cut away the navigation pack at the beginning of the .VOB file and that's where the problem is I think.
Asked the autor of XP Chopper if it was possible not to cut by seconds but to cut out/off some gop's.
Anyhow, I just read a threat on the CDFreaks forum and it had a reply from Olliver Kastl (creator of CloneCD) at a question about CloneDVD.
The program can split and here it comes even resize real time !
