I have spent considerable time reading (THe 5 day rule without posting is a good idea, but can be frustrating when one needs to post, has done homework, but still can not get answers), and have not been able to figure this one out. Please be patient, as I have alot to say here, and hopefully someone with considerable experience and great knowledge :D can help.

I am trying to copy Willy Wonka (My 2 year old daughters favorite movie (and thus the object of much abuse).

Here is my method.

1. Rip the DVD (DVD Decryptor)
Easy, no need to provide details.

2. Remove exteraneous material (VOB Rator + Ifo Edit).
I am keeping the menu, and some of the warnings (Not beacuse I want to but beacuse it is easier).

The movie has two main title sets (I do not know if the term is correct)
These are

There is no Video_TS.VOB only the IFO and BUP

VTS_01_XX and VTS_02_XX

VTS_01_XX is the main title. It contains the logos, the behind the scenes stuff, the menu, etc.

VTS_02_xx is a photo slide show

The VOB's for title set 1 include the following

VTS_01_0.VOB - Menu, ETC ID's 1-28
After 14 it is the alternate language stuff. I Strip these with IFO Edit. (I select Menu Extras, Strip VOB ID's)

VTS_01_1.VOB ID = 1
Extra Behind the Scenes Stuff, Very Bad, and Unnecesary - I strip this with VOB Extras.

VTS_01_2.VOB ID's 1-7
1 = See above.
2,3 = Xtra behind the Scenes
4 = Copyright protection
5 = Logo
6 = FBI Warning
7 = Movie
1-3 are stripped (VOB Extras in IFO EDIT)

VTS_01_3.VOB ID = 7
7= Movie

VTS_01_4.VOB ID = 8
8 = Movie

VTS_01_5.VOB ID = 8
8 = above
VTS_01_6.VOB ID = 8
8 = above

VTS_01_7.VOB ID's 8-12
8 = Above
9 - 12 Sing along songs

I first Strip the menu stuff, then the unwanted VOB ID's. I Copy title set 2 and the Video_TS files to the specified directory, Close IFO Edit, go to the new directory and open the Video_TS.IFO file and click get VTS sectors. I then play the movie in IFO EDIT.

The Video is now 4.9 GB - TOO BIG

Here is the problem with the next step

3. Removing the unwanted audio streams and the subtitles
I open VTS_01_0.ifo in IFO Edit, click VOB Extras, CLick Strip streams, and remove the unwanted audio (I leave only the english 6 chanel stream and the english subtitles), and strip it. REsult = 4.23 GB (Wahoo)
I copy the additional files to the specified directory, open the Video_TS.IFO(Actually all oft he .IFO's, but after the Video_TS, no further changes are made) click get VTS sectors, and save. CLose IFO EDIT, Reopen, and open Video_TS.IFO click play movie, and wala, after the WB logo I get (approx quote) couldn't find necessary file, further playback not posible. :angry:

Help, please let me know further information I can post so I can solve this problem. Anyone copy this DVD with Success?

:confused: :confused:

I am not an expert, but here is a possible solution. It sounds like your VOB's (with the movie only and the subs and language you want) are just about the right size for the DVD. Since you don't care about menu's etc, here is what I would do, and have done in the past.

-Open the directory with the IFO, BUP and VOB files.
-Backup anything you want, and then delete everything but the main movie VOB's. (including IFO's etc)
-Make sure your VOB's are numbered correctly
-Open IFOEdit and use the Create New IFO's option. Select your first VOB and let it do its stuff.
-Once that is done, Use the Get VTS Sectors

Now you should be able to burn the directory to a DVD. I use Nero, and either just the plain DVD Video Wizard, or in pure 1.02 UDF mode. Both work fine for me. I use this process every time, the only time I don't is if I want the menu's, or the movie VOB's themseleves are two large and you have to resize them.

One other suggestion. When I just want the movie (like this sounds like for you) I just use the select streams option in DVD decryptor, and only select the movie, the video stream and the audio stream that I want. Then you just strip our unwanted stuff up front rather than doing it later.

just a follow on from the last post ,you will still have to re-create the ifo files with ifoedit and then press get vts sectors , then check with ifoedit to see if it plays , if so your on a winner, then just burn baby burn :devil:
