I know there seems to be some question and some small amount of consternation on the part of some (myself included) about being able to accurately calculate the file size of a TMPGEnc transcoded m2v file.
To that end I ran a series of sessions using my 'MASH' DVD, movie only, one sound track, no subs. The movie is 116 min. in length so anyone can calculate the average bitrate needed to get it on a DVD-5, right?
The Automatic CQ function in TMPGEnc is anything but predictable so here are the results of several sessions with different settings with 'Mash.'

3500 Q100 2,829,103KB
4000 Q25 2,529,133KB
4000 Q50 3,059,005KB
4000 Q75 3,059,593KB
4500 Q50 3,535,663KB
4500 Q75 3,538,417KB
5000 Q75 3,713,021KB
5500 Q100 4,036,890KB
I the did a session with another DVD, 'The Pledge' (124 min.) and it came out like this:
4500 Q100 3,625,158KB
It certainly appears the Q scale is very non-linear.
