Hello guys this is my first post in this wonderful forum, i´m from Portugal.

I had a lot of time to study the guides and the old threads and im getting very good at this.....but it seems to be a very long walk to get near some guys here.

I begun copying just the movie (without the languages and the streams not desired)

Nowadays im doing some movies with menus and using cce+maestro with those movies i cant fit in dvd-5

The other step i want to do is to learn how to edit the buttons on the menu to make them disabled (extras and other stuff like that) but right now seems to be a little complicated to do.

Chapters are another pain in the @ss if you know what i mean..... almost every time are out of sync.....

I cant believe the hours i expent browsing this forum and doing some tests with ifoedit (i cant think in anything else anyway)

I have already:
StarWars 2
The Impostor
What Women Wants
Negociator
Blue Streak
Ice Age
Planet of the Apes
Fast and Furious
Devil´s Advocate

working right now in:
Scooby-doo
Monsters INC

3) Keep the focus: Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved, locked or simply be deleted.

9) Use a title that describes the content of your post. Don't use all caps or special characters to draw attention.

11) Don't post just to increase your number of posts. If you have nothing to say on a certain matter then don't post. The number of posts on this board has no direct relation to the experience of a member.

...these are three forum rules you violated in my eyes. so please respect the rules.

Take it easy, many of the newbies make such posts when they come...
I already see the "welcome to the forum" thing from the moderators :D

Welcome to the forum :D .

@Rejetor

Please, take the time to abide by the rules it will make our lives much easier. I read your posting but really couldn't figure out what you wanted to say.

Just greet us? If so, thanks.

Ask something? If so, post in the appropriate forum and...

Thanks.

Newbies are welcome, we just expect that they put some time in it (just like we did when we started or when we learn something new). Thanks and, again, welcome.

Cheers,

Mijo.

Sorry if i wasted your time (not really a newbie BTW)...... but i need to say this:

3) Keep the focus: Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved, locked or simply be deleted.

I thought i created this thread in the "General Discussion" and it wasnt outside the scope of this forum.

9) Use a title that describes the content of your post. Don't use all caps or special characters to draw attention.

The title describes very well the content of my post.... I wanted to say hello to you after waiting 5 days to post and because it was my first post. I didnt use caps or special characters to draw attention anyway.

11) Don't post just to increase your number of posts. If you have nothing to say on a certain matter then don't post. The number of posts on this board has no direct relation to the experience of a member.

I dont care about the numbers of posts i have or you have.... Im sure that specific rule was created to those kind of people that create a post only to say "lol" or something like that (spammers) my post was long enough and describes to you my succesful and unsuccesful about dvd ripping/authoring/burning.

I dont know what to think......maybe if i created a post asking some stupid question that is almost obvious or everywhere in this forum using the search button or the guides i would be better welcome by you.

But again.....sorry if i wasted your time....

@killingspree i am not sure what your problem is, but i see nothing wrong with rejectors thread. He put hello in this title and thats basically what he was doing is telling us all hi and that he was excited. Dont piss newbies off so they feel like crap just because they wanted to express how grateful they are to everyone here.

Also in the general area we have talked about this we=doom9 mod team. What we have figured out is unless someone is being annoying and posting junk all the time we dont really mind posts like this, and i know i find it humbling to have someone straight out say that this forum is great never can get enough compliments on the job we do here.

@rejetor sorry about that, some people think they are better just because they have more posts then others, the fact is alot of users spend time like months even a year before they ever post. I myself was lucky i spent only a month before i posted and no one ever called me a newbie even tho i was:) If they would of been rude like that to me i would of tore then a new ARSE hole.:D

Sigh.

Anyone else wants to comment this one? How about a poll about this thread?

I mean, Rejetor made everything clear in his last posting, so, chainsaw135, there is no need to attack killingspree, now. Or is there?

I wouldn't and couldn't do this job without experienced members trying to help. He was wrong, but he surely isn't running around and insulting newbies (and yes, Rejetor is a newbie on this board, like I was when I came here, no matter that I was a team member on Flexion etc. and that I was quite some time around...).

So, pretty please I don't want another flamewar here, I have more than enough of them...

BTW, there have been many "Hello" threads, but in all of those cases it was 100% clear that it was just a "Hello" thread, in this case it wasn't (at least to me).

@-h

:) How does it feel being old?

Cheers,

Ookie.

@ all

Relax ... this is our hobby here, enjoy it, dont fight.

@ killingspree

I know you had only the best intentions when replying to the posting from him. All you wanted was to avoid that the mods jump on the poor guy, as you personally considered his post to be 'useless' from an informational point of view. I for my part like it a lot if people feel responsible for others, so i appreciate what you did, even if it turned out afterwards that the mods had a completely different point of view here than you thought they would have.

@ -h, Ookami

Yes, we get old and older :D ....

Actually yeah there was a reason to let him know that just because he has alot of posts under his belt doesn't give him the go ahead to trample on someone, the fact is he prolly is a great user 99% of the time but in this case he was wrong, as you put it.

True none of us could it's not all you, but we also wouldn't have jobs if people were rude to newbie's 24/7 and it was rude to jump in on a nice thread in the general section it is "general by all means" were you in the last meeting in the mod chat where it was clear how things were to run in the general and this type of posts as far as it was stated is fine.

I kept my fingers from attacking you the first time i posted the responce i did, i should of tho spoke the truth like i'm doing this time. The fact is this, you dont attack one another regardless you could of PM'd me or went to doom9 but publically attacking another team member like what you did is pretty lame and only lamers do such things. Yeah i know i'm at your level oh well sometimes you need to stoop down to someones level so that people will understand

Yeah there are pleanty of "Hello" threads and they are not all a like you are trying to act like they all are just the same. The fact is You and your experenced helper are not doing a very good job when you attack me your team member, and he attacks a newbie in the same thread if you dont want a flame war then dont start one.

@chainsaw135

I won't get in the discussion as I'll probably get my head bite off... ;)

Just a general question: When you do quotations like you did in your last post, how do you do it? Do you open another window and copy what you want to quote and add the appropiate HTML tags? That seems like a lot of work, are you doing it another way?

chainsaw135
24th January 2003, 15:31
@N_F There are prolly better ways to do it, but the way i just did that was clicked quote as usual, then i copy the Html tag and as i section off the areas i want to respond to i just paste the HTML tags. It dosen't take to much effort....:D

@chainsaw135

I don't see where I've attacked you, if you see that then I'm sorry. I will not argue with you as I have better things to do.

I respond to you like to any other member, no difference at all, I expect the same from you and anyone else.

As for "doing my job", if you're not satisfied how I do my job you can tell Doom9 about it, the minute he wants me to leave, I'm out. But, I already wrote that to Legman and co. Seems you've joined the club :) .

Any questions?

Cheers,

Ookie.

i just got back to this thread after not reading it for several days and i wouldn't have thought that it would be possible to start such a flamewar. i did NOT want this, i just reminded him of the rules.
ok it was a little rude, i have to admit, but i did it with good intentions and not with the aime of attacking anybody personally.
i did in no way want to 'show off' because i think i might be better than somebody else, just because i have a few posts. compared to others, i've got just above 0 posts anyway.

so
@ rejetor: sorry if i offended you.
@ moderators (esp. ookami, chainsaw135): please don't fight over something as TINY as my remark above, if i had known that it would result in something like this i would have never posted it!

This is what I was waiting for! Thanks!

@Rejetor

Sorry for this mess, hope you'll forgive me for it :) .

@BaronVlad

Check your e-mails these days :D ... I will write to the new one.

Ok, I will close this thread now as I don't think anything useful can be said anymore.

Cheers,

Ookie.
