hi everyone,
can you please help me with this problem.i tried to use ifoedit and then open vts_ifo and press play dvd,i get this error message.
1 out of 3 dvd streams failed to render
no combination of intermediate filters could be found
no valid dvd-video volume could be located.the video decoder doesnt produce closed caption data
i then click continue and get the following error message

cannot get the IVIDEOWINDOW interface.cant play dvd-video titles.
i would appreciate with your help .thank you

I get that error message when i have dvd2avi opened or any dvd playing software running. Try and make sure you have no other programs running (or paused) in the background.

It could also be something entirely different but closing dvd2avi and my dvd player (Cyberlink) always fixed the problem for me.

You need the mpeg2 codecs for previewing dvd files in ifoedit. All dvd playing software includes this codec so just install a program like WinDVD or PowerDVD if you have not already.

Do you have directx installed?

The IVideoWindow interface sets properties on the video window. IfoEdit uses it to set the window owner, the position and dimensions of the window, and other properties. Has Ifoedit ever worked for 'Dvd Play'? If it has then that codec may be corrupted.

Try re-installing PowerDVD or ask the more experienced users. I cant give you the codec since its embedded in the code of PowerDVD (I think). Try searching the forums.

I have the same issues..It started happening after upgrading to XP SP1
Tried everything...Nobody has addressed it.
