I am trying your new IFOupdate and I had the following error msg:

Subtitles out of range

This is what I did:
I was reencoding the extras for which the VOB file is small (only VTS_xx_1.VOB which is 800MB but needed to be resized)
Anyway when I opened the corresponding IFO file, the vob has 1 audio track (2ch) and subtitle (1) and 2 PGCs
so instead of ripping the 2 PGCs, I decided to give your new ifoupdate a go.
So I reencoded the whole extra with CCE using the chapter points given by IFOUpdate in Adjusted Cell Mode (TXT files), opened scenarist, add the reencoded video tracks, audio track and no subtitles since I did not want them. (I also used the CHP files in scenarist)
Scenarist generated the vob files and I used IFOupdate and at that time it was ok
I played the extra with power DVD and the video played fine but there was no sound
Then I remembered that the extracted audio track had id 0x83 and in my scenarist scenario I inserted the track in 1st position so I assume that scenarist gave it Id 0x80 (and I assumed that it was the reason I had no audio)
So I reopened scenarist and inserted 3 dummy audio track which have the same format that the 0x83 audio track and the real track at the 4th position so that it can have id 0x83
I still did not want any subtitles
I regenerated the vob file and this time IFOUpdate complained with "subtitles out of range"

Do you have any idea why I have such a message ?
Thanks

What version of IFOUpdate are you using? I've made some recent changes that enabled copying the Audio/Subtitle tables in this mode. Use V0.62

I was using 0.60 but I have updated to 0.62
Anyway I tried again last night with 0.60 and it worked
I did not change anything so I don't know what happened.

Anyway even if I have managed to correctly update the original IFO file, I still have problem with the subtitles
There is a delay and I can not figure out how to delay the subtitles in scenarist.

Any idea ?

after answering your other post for delaying subs in scenarist I thought of this method.

Shift the portion on the movie in Scenarist by the secs that subs r off. Insert the subs and reset the video timecode to its previous position. I believe that after insertion the subs wont shift themselves to the new video position so effectively u have delayed them as wanted.

Unfortunately u have to figure out yourself if u need a positive or negative shift. Never done that so I am only guessing here.

@emistral
There is a delay and I can not figure out how to delay the subtitles in scenarist.
It's much easier to use the functions in Subrip to delay the subtitle rather than do it in Scenarist.
In subrip, after ripping all the sub and before saving the scripts file, you can click on the clock icon, it will allows you to add delay to the scripts file. When done just save the file.

This means that the proposed methode doesn?t work or it hasn?t been tried at all?

I don't know whether the proposed method works or not, as I never tried to adjust the delay of subtitles in Scenarist.
