System jam

Hi I'm currently using a 7 year old PC (P200) running windows 98se.

Recently, it has started to jam unexpectadly on a near daily basis. Subsequently, I have to do a manual reboot.

I purchased a new hdd (30gb western digital) about 2 years ago. Is my PC dying? I haven't made any software/hardware changes recently.

Hi WorldBook, here are some things to try
a) Check if the CPU Fan is working. Maybe it's just full of dust
b) The same goes for the PSU Fan
c) Last I can think of is that you need a new PSU. Especially if you don't own a UPS and the electricity lines in your region are giving some nasty voltage peaks.

I do have a surge protector. Recently, the PC has not crashed but I will give it a cleaning and take a look at the fan.
