How reliable is the ifo dvd player function (idp) ?
I prepare the dvd's on my computer till everything works fine in the idp. When i burn my dvd and play it in my standalone i often encounter problems with extra not starting subtitles not setting audio not setting correctly. Sometimes i encounter what seems to be a dead link cause the player stops alltogether.
Anyone else have these problems.

Its pretty damn reliable. IF the dvd plays correctly in IDP but not in your dvd player then its a pretty good chance that the problem lies with your dvd-r media or the program you use to burn your vob files.
Do you make an image of the files before you burn? Try not to use Nero to backup your dvd's but an image burning program instead. eg Dvd Decrypter.

Don't use nero.... Use dvd decrypter to burn an image like the previous post states...
I burn't DVD'rs with Nero and they were unreadable in my dvd player (cyberhome ADL 528)
NOT THE MEDIA
Hope this helps :)

Thnx for the advice all. Unfortunately even with an dvddecrypter burnt image i still get the same errors on my standalone. On my computer it plays like a charm.
I am talking about the bonusmaterials in Dinosaur. Behind the scene's if you play the first link (beginning) and it finishes it is supposed to return to the menu and highlight the next choice. This works fine on my pc but my standalone hangs.
I guess i will have to live with that.
