If your dvd player does not display selectable subtitled SVCD or VCD subtitle menus or the subs themselves, would it be a good choice to use the permanent subtitles feature in DVD2SVCD? And would they actually display?
Thanks

Hello!
As the name says, theese subtitles will show up permanent, they are hardcoded in the video. You canīt get rid of them, they will always display in every player. I really canīt tell, if itīis a good choice for you, itīs way to personal.
This could have been answered easily by reading the Q & A and the guides.

@winxi
Let me rephrase it then, is it the only choice one has if the player they use wont display them any other way?
I did check the Q&A And the Faqs. :)

Hi-
is it the only choice ...
I can think of several alternatives:
1. You can watch it along with a language you don't understand and no subs at all.
2. You can watch it along with a soundtrack badly dubbed into a language you do understand.
3. You can watch it together with someone that speaks the language. Then he can translate for you. That's a lot of fun for both of you.
So yes, the obvious answer is to let DVD2SVCD burn the subs into the video. Thousands of people use that feature every day, since very few of us have players that allow us to select separate subs. Sorry, I couldn't resist. :)
