VCD and SVCD on one disc

If I have a few VCD and SVCD mpeg files. What is the best way to get them on one disc to be played on a standalone player. My ultimate goal would be to get them onto DVD-R.

I looked at the guide but it seems like it is just for SVCD to DVD-R.
Would I have to reencode the mpeg-1's? to mpeg-2's? or is there an easier way?

i'm not sure if this is right or not, but i remember someone saying that you have to convert the audio to 48mhz to be dvd complaint.
