OK... I know I can rip on episode no problem with DVD Decryptor

That gets me VOB files with AC3 in. I'd like to re-author those files once I have removed the unnecessary languages and subs. Don't need the original menus but having SOME menu would be nice.

Uleads DVD Moviefactory2 supports VOB authoring but splits each chapter into a separate clip (not helpful) and doesn't like AC3.

Q: How can I remove the chapters?
Q: How can I convert the AC3 without having to demux and remux or must I?

Answering myself.. sad...

Use Ulead DVD Workshop 1.2 apply the cheat to make it accept AC3... rename the single big VOB file you ask ifoEdit to produce... author as you wish with menus and chapters where U want.

Only downside... well it seems to lose the subtitles that I kinda wanted to keep.

But it works.. anyone else got ideas?
