1st of all u have to specify the authoring program in order to ger help.
In the meantime why dont u visit the thread about the new ifoupdate v0.60. this might clear things up for u and u wont have to reauthor.

well the authoring program is dvd meastro
prob is my newly authored ifo file has only 1 pgc
and the original one has 3 pgc and the movieis on the third pgc and i cant update it with ifo edit....
i read the ifo update section but wasnt sure if i can update just the 3rd pgc with the newly pgc from the new ifo file only instead of re authorin it would be much simpler......that way....but not sure if this can be done...

In order to have Maestro to produce 3 pgcs instead of one u have to use playlists.
From ifoedit get the structure of each pgc
Create chapter points in Maestro that will divide the video in the correct places. Let us assume that your 1st pgc has 2 cells each 1min long. U must create the corresponding chapter points at Maestro at 0:01:00.00 and at 0:02:00.00. U must proceede with the creation of the rest of the chapters in Maestro timeline.
When done u must create 3 playlist (press the # bottom right). Each playlist counts as 1 pgc. Add in each one the chapter points ifoedit reports. ie for the 1st pgc in our example u should add only chapters 1 and 2.
Clean the resulting vts after compiling with ifoupdate in Maestro mode and u r done.
