Dodgy Disc Printer

Anyone seen this:

Looks interesting, however I cant find anything on the quality of it etc, black and white or colour.

Anyonw got any info?

It looks exactly like the others that are out there, that basically use a single color ribbon (black, blue and some others).

They work great if all you're looking to do is slap some text on the disc, or a basic single color logo. It's not going to print a multi-color photo or detail artwork of hundreds of color variations.

So is there anything out there that will do decent prints on printable cds that isnt gonna cost an arm and a leg?

Not cheaply. I bought myself one of those EZ/CD Printers when it was on sale for $299 (US). I love it! I even found the cartridges for about $5 each. Before I bought the printer I did alot of research, and it was the least expensive option.

Before I bought that Christmas gift for myself, I was using a very, very thin label from CompuLabel. It was so lightweight that it didn't impact the disc at all. I labelled about 400 discs with those labels and not had a problem of peeling, overheating or glue problems.

Also, if you're located outside the US, you might want to look at the Epson 950 (or the higher end 2100). They have CD printing capability. But they're higher priced than the EZ/CD printer.

Works great for simple text lables. Damn quick and good quality. With the additionaly benefit is you don't have to pay for higher priced inject printable discs, it is a thermal based printer :)
