Just a simple question regarding a new tools for scenarist

What about a tool that will take a VIDEO_TS file from a DVD and will process it as well as the VTS title sets and then will produce a scenarist project file with the whole dvd structure ?

I guess It would be interesting if such tool existed.
It would save a lot of time
Basically once the structure is extracted in scenarist, what would have to be done would be to drag and drop the files or remove them and then regenerates the vob files
Placeholders in scenarist could be used to virtually simulate the assets while being reencoded

I am planning to work on such project as I am tired of using tens of tools and if anybody is interested (suggestion/comments) or has enough information on scenarist project file format and also on a very detail information on DVD structure
Also if anybody think of any trick that I should be aware, let me know

Hi Emistral,

Hopefully in the coming months there will only be three tools you need before going to Scenarist. DoItFast4U will demux all of your content and doItFaster4Me will take this and produce a file to use with CCE for re-encoding and write a script ready for importing into Scenarist. No need for placeholders since the rules for naming of files demuxed in DoItFast4U are known. Work is progressing quickly on doItFaster4Me, of which I am the author. Hopefully the result of Eyes`Only and my work will be a much less painful process.

I'd suggest that you don't go reinventing the wheel when there are already people working hard on what you desire. Given a month or two and we will be there I'm sure. Do a search on our two tools on this forum and you will see what we are planning. Info on my tool can be found at http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42799.

@aquabubble:

Thanks for your answer
This forum is so big that it is impossible for me to keep an eye on everything unless I spend hours reading all the posts (I think my boss would not really appreciate it :) )
Anyway I will not reinvent the wheel and I'll wait for your tool
