I just ripped Ice Age and all went well. But I ran into an issue when I finished burning it. I stuck the SVCD in my Phillips DVD player and it didn't see the disk? It just kept trying to read it.

Mind you I changed NOTHING in the burning program or the dvd player.I also did NOT change media as well. I have several SVCD's on this same memorex material?

I then placed the un recognized disk in the pc to browse it thinnking it might have been a bad burn... And all the contents were there..??

I then played it on the pc using powerdvd and it played fine?

Can anyone offer me some insight on what might have happened to this that my standalone would not recognize it? This is the first disk out of 50 movies ripped that this has happened to me?

MY DVD2SVCD log is below... Thanks so much for any info you can offer me on this issue...

Your logfile looks ok to me. Also if your CD plays thru PowerDVD the conversion probably went fine.

Two possibles spring to mind

1/ Bad Media/Burn - CDR's are more demanding on the laser focusing system of a drive compared with "original" silver CD's. Even if your PC's CD drive can read a disc it doesn't necessarily follow that your standalone will. Slower burn speeds seem to give a "cleaner" burn that is easier to read. Reburn at 4x speed. You may make another coffee coaster but CDR's are so cheap these days it's not a major gamble!

2/ Nero version - some versions have previously been known to make a bad job of cue/bin type image files. If you've had 50 successes on the bounce it's unlikely to be the problem. Anyway, read this page http://www.mrbass.org/dvd2svcd/burn/
If this isn't how you burned your disc try this method.

Can you please tell me how your post does not violate rule 9 of the forum rules?
You have been around long enough to know better.
I edited your title to something more appropriate.

I agree with NIK. Some DVD players do not like certain types of media. Check the player list at www.vcdhelp.com to see if the comments offer any insight.

Might be that this very CD-R you are using is not as good as the others( from a dye point of view, there might be one or two defective media in a pack, not enough defective for a CD-ROM drive to fail but enough defective for a violent standalone player to spit them out or for a more peaceful player to simply ignore them).

As Nick suggested, you should try and burn another one, just to see if it works. By the way, do your previous SVCDs still work on your standalone now ? (in case your standalone is fed up with memorex stuff and didn't warn you ;)
