Fight Club (2-DVD Split Movie) Cheat Sheet

Tools I used:
For ripping movie to harddrive: Smartripper 2.41
For editing the DVD navigations: IfoEdit 0.95
For burning the final product: Nero 5.5.9.17 DVD-Video

1. Create a folder named “Fight Club” and three sub-folder named “Files”,”Disk 1”, “Disk 2”.

2. Rip all files except VIDEO_TS.* VTS_01_*, and VTS_02_* to “Fight Club” folder.
_____________________________________________________
3. Region Free every IFO and save.
_____________________________________________________
4. Get VTS Sectors.
_____________________________________________________
5. Backup all IFOs to your “Files” subfolder. If you need to copy your original IFO over your badly edited one, get VTS Sector afterwards.

6. In VIDEO_TS.IFO / VMG Overview / Menu Language Unit [ ] section , delete playbacks on the VOB-Ids 4 to 8.
Translation: No FBI warnings to view.

7. In VIDEO_TS.IFO / VMGM_PGCI_UT / PGC-Menu_16 / PGC Command Table, edit
OLD > 1.Pre Command (JumpTT) Jump to Title: 4 [30 02 00 00 00 04 00 00 ]

Translation: 20th Century Fox logo and THX sampler are bypassed before movie start.

10. Time to split DVD. Select VTS_02_0.IFO and click on VOB Extras

11. These need to be checked.
- Correct Vob-Unit (Navigation Pack) pointers in VOB-files
- Correct original IFO files
- Split to 2 DVD-Rs
- Remove P-Uops
- Remove Macrovision
- Remove Ilvu/Angle point.
- Adjust Vob-Unit pointers.
- Adjust Audio/Subp point.
- AutoCopy Menu-files to destination

12. Select Destination directory to your “Disk 1” sub-folder and 2nd Dest. Directory to “Disk 2”

13. Press Ok.

14. Cell 30 is selected by IFOedit as a middle point to strip. Select Cell 29 as your new split point.
Let me tell the reason I do this. When I viewed my scene selection menus, the chapters are grouped to each page.
[1-6] [7-12] [13-18] [19-24] [25-30] [31-36]
Each chapter menu is a cell. We can disable cells. Look for the nearest chapter point from your original point. In this case, it was either chapter 18 or 24, according the chapter layout. The logical choice is chapter 18 since it is still within the central point. And chapter 18 is Cell 29. After the strip, Disk 1 will have chapters 1 – 18 and Disk 2 would have 19 – 36) .

15. Make sure the “Correct IFO tables” is checked and press split it. This is going to take awhile as this movie has 8 vobs.

16. When done, copy VIDEO_TS.*, VTS_01_*, and VTS_02_0.VOB to Disk 1 and Disk 2 sub-folders.

DISK ONE: Chapters 1 – 18
17. Select VTS_02_0.IFO in your Disk 1 sub-folder.

BURNING DISKS
For Disk 1 & 2, I used Imgtools 0.95 with reallocation unchecked successfully.
With using Imgtools, I have Nero 5.5.9.17 installed on my computer.
