Can somebody help me through this! Explain this to me like I'm a 5 year old. I seem to be doing something wrong. I'm using CCE v2.5...

DVD2AVI
Input m2v file, force film and save project - Duh!

VFAPI
Open d2v file in VFAPI
Give the output file a name

There are two check boxes "Video Output" and "Video Output by VFAPI Reader CODEC". Should both of these be checked????

BITRATE VIEWER
Open the m2v file in Bitrate Viewer and copy and paste info to Notepad for CCE settings later.

CCE

Should I set CCE to output in *.mpv or *.m2v? Will "Pulldown" accept an m2v file and spit out an m2v file? DoItFast4U seems to want an mpv file. Will it spit out an m2v file? I'll be importing this file into SpruceUp so I need an m2v file.

ENCODE SETTINGS
Drop AVI file from VFAPI into CCE
Title - Does this matter?
EC is checked.
Video Information Fie is checked - Do I need this??
Uncheck Audio File
Multipass VBR (2 passes) and set average bitrate

VIDEO SETTINGS
Should DC Precision be set to "Auto"????
Should the Timecode be set to all 0's??????

Match "MPEG2 video settings" from Bitrate Vewer info.
"Zigzag scanning order" and "DVD Compliant" - One guide says never check these and another guide says always check these. What's the story here???

GOP SETTINGS
N/M = 4

QUALITY SETTINGS
Dropped "Image Quality Priority" to 5
Uncheck "Anti-Noise Filter"
Encode!

download this guide

http://www.fukrulez.com

select dvd guides

select fukheads method 4 (cce)

I take it that you are doing ntsc since you talk about pull down & force film

the time code should be 0.0.0.0

you can make a template within cce ,

you should also check off ( make dvd compliant)

hope this helps
