I have the version of sonic mydvd that came with my burner, Pioneer A05. Anyway when I import a movie that is larger the about 2.7 gig I can not burn it, anything below that I can. I have tried to find a setting to change but can find none. I have made sure that it is on DVD 4.7gig but that makes no diffrence. Now I'm wondering if it isn't because it is the software that was bundled with my burner (you know how they give you cheap crap!)
Thanks for any help,
Aloha

Sonic My DVD is crap :o . Read the guides here, they are very helpful. Rippping and backing up a DVD is not as simple as pressing a button.
you may want to first start with the DVD structure guide. Great for understanding how a DVD is put together.
Read and understand  the IFO edit guide - I suggest renting the movies in the guides for practicing if you do not have them.
Get the following programs DVD Decryptor, IFO Edit, ReMPEG, TMPGEnc, and VOB Rator. All are available here. Learn how to use them.
Play around with DVD's for a few days. Play with ReMPEG, and TMPGEnc (Guides are available).
Some programs are not available to the general user - Maestro and Scenarist. Both companies are no longer. I can not approve of other sources for obtaining these programs (i.e. KAZAA). The programs are also a bit more intrensive for a newbie. It is best to learn how to do the basics (Which I know little still after a month of study)
Search, Search, Search the forums for particular problems. Most likely your problem has been solved.
Good luck.
BTW I convinced my wife to allow my DVD burner by convincing her the value of backing up DVD's. 10 coasters later I have completed 3 successful burns of simple DVD's. I still have a long way to go, but I am having fun. Do not let the problems you encounter discourage you. I have read many quotes from long time members here that describe difficulties. I have also read many ingenious solutions to problems.
Keep in touch

AirborneSilva,
I got the same bundle. I tried to use MyDVD several times, and it always failed to do a simple tasks. I decided it would be a waste of time to figure out how to make it work.
bubbabeergut,
Just one thing about the coaster. I try a new method on DVD-RW first. I am lucky because my Sampo DVD player runs fine with Optodisc DVD-RW media. When successful, I can burn a DVD-R from the project or ISO copy from the DVD-RW to DVD-R.
