Anyone seen this before? I've ran into 2 both DVD5s, if you Scan Forward at faster then 2x the picture seems to freeze up until you hit play. Hitting play sends you back to the main menu, on another it sends you into a special feature (a normal one not a hidden one)

My originals as well as my backups do this!

Any ideas whats going on?

Are you reading these in a standalone or dvd-rom or your burner??

Since it does it with originals, it sounds like the reader you're using just can't handle high speed reads or maybe your discs have really bad scratches?

Not a single scratch, the disk is new. It does it on my PC, my Apex, My brothers Mintek, and my cousins Pioneer.

Its something in the disk and the way it was prepaired, I'm sure of it.

So then I'm the only one to see this so far? Very strange.

Yep I noticed that too.... It's only due to poor quality media.

With Verbatim or REAL TDK, no problem... Fast Forward works up to x32

BUT with Ritek burnt in X2, or any other crapy DVD-R like princo or fake TDK, FF is limited to x2 and freezes some time :(

The behavior is about the same on my PC: when I try FF same pb. Also if I use DVDDecriptor to copy the DVD-R back to the HD, I noticed the important fluctuation of speed (between x0 to x5).

With good branded media I get a x5 to x10 reading speed....

thxtof: Well my ritek media has always fastforwarded fine at up to 8x when burned at 1x. But its aside from the point, like I said the factory original movie does it also.
