Hi all. Iīve been doing R2 PAL convertions with the DVD2SVCD bundle without problems on ordinary films. So next step is anime. Ooooops....what a step. I just canīt get to the stage, where iīm satisfied with my results. I know zip about scripting/programing and i have some translation problems. So maybe one of you masterminds can help me out.

I canīt seem to get fluid or smooth output in highmotion scenes. Iīve read a lot, but canīt make much sence out of it. I would like to know how to use the filters within the bundle. What to write in a script.

This is what bitrateviewer tells me:
Stream type: MPEG-2 MP@ML VBR
Resolution: 720*576
Aspect ratio: 16:9 Generic
Framerate: 25.00
Nom. bitrate: 7500000 Bit/Sec
VBV buffer size: 112
Constrained param. flag: No
Chroma format: 4:2:0
DCT precision: 9
Pic. structure: Frame
Field topfirst: Yes
DCT type: Field
Quantscale: Nonlinear
Scan type: ZigZag
Frame type: Interlaced

These settings are so far the most pleasing results to my eyes. Iīve tried about 25 different settings:
Executing Cinema Craft Encoder.
StreamSectors: 1540983976
AudioSectors: 84795788

Can someone please help me out here with the blurry lines (along the bodies and the water). Ask away if you need more info.

have you tried changing the field order? i rip ntsc movies but just about all anime i do i have to change to the opposite field that bitrate veiwer tells me. bitrate veiwer always says top field first for me but i must do bottom field first or it will be shakey or have lines going through it.
Hope this helps a bit

In all my attemps i might have used it. Right now iīm trying to do a clip with SpatialSoften filtering. I found a thread with some recommended settings. (2,15,25) Have no clue what iīm doing but canīt wait to see the result. The proces, however, is slooooooooooow. Maybe i can find a quicker way to use filters. Back to you - i might give the "bottum" a shut.:D

Please let me know what your results are. I have the same results with Lilo and Stitch. BTW, How can I change the field order? I'm not that experienced with the program.

Would it be wise to have a part of a/or The forum for best results of a copy of a dvd movie?

It seems that by changing field order from top to bottom, there is a slight increase in quality. On peter pan though, the difference is not worth talking about. IMHO.
As mentioned i tried the SpatialSoften filter, which also gave a further slight increase in quality. Using Teleside, Bicubic and some anti-noise filtering, the CCE speed is 0,8 (something!). Using also the SS filter, speed drops to 0,18. Tooooooo much for my liking. I got to find some other filters. Anyone got some nice scripts?

Hi-

There's a list of Spatial and other filters available for AviSynth Here (http://www.avisynth.org/index.php?page=Section+3%3A+Filters+and+colorspaces#q34). I might suggest the 2D Cleaner as it's good, and much faster than SpatialSoften.

I might as well ask. If my script looks like underneath, how do i make the filter work? In other words, what do wright where? Hope youīll give a hand ;)

Iīm using latest DVD2SVCD bundle.(Issue RGB/YUY2 ?)
