Yes,its cheap but quite reliable.
I used to have a Pentium3@800MHz and lots of memory and I NEVER had a problem with dropped frames and the like.
Now with my AthlonXP2000+ all is well,too.
I honestly do not have anything to say against this Tv Tuner...
Go for it...it even comes bundled with a software suite that lets you capture MPEG-2 or MPEG-1 of various quality levels with no problems...

Well,i m not familiar with the terminology,but i can assure you that you could connect a video source (s-video,antenna whatever) and you could capture video from it.I know this was also a feature of the WinTV2000 which was the previous Tuner by Leadtek...
Anyway,check for urself,just google for info on WinTV2000 XP !

I own one of these myself and I'm not disappointed like I was with the AIW cards.

The quality is pretty nice on these cards, I never use the hardware encode but supposedly (?) it's supposed to encode MPEG1,2,4 w/hardware assist.

Only has video in, audio in, audio out (connects to audio in on soundcard) & coax connectors for TV/FM antennas.

Just found a solution to badly distorted captured audio with this capture card, had to replace my Creative 1371 type sound card which had not previously had any audio problems. The replacement SB Live captures audio undistorted. The proggies that were affected were Winfast PVR, Ulead Video Studio 6 SE (Both bundled with winfast card) & WinDVR. The simpler capture programs eg Virtual Dub were unaffected.

Does this card have better quality than a 2 year old Hauppage WinTV Theater? I am planning to transfer some old vhs tapes using either of these cards.
