I made a 785MB XSVCD (130min 352*240) and now i'm trying to burn it to a 80min CD with Nero. So i choose Super Video CD in Nero without checking standard complaint cd. But for some reason Nero says the file is too big and it can't be burn on one cd (i tried to overburn but failed). So i guess i put some settings wrong or something... help!

The error in Nero says:

Total capacity for burning: 90:42.48 797MB
Total capacity on disc: 79:57.74 703MB

Update:
I made an image with vcdimager, but the .bin file turned out to be 914mb while .mpg file is just 795mb

I have a similar problem burning xvcd's that exceed 703 mb. I can't seem to burn 2 xvcd's that are 769 mb each but less than 80 minutes in length.

My guess is that when create an x(s)vcd NERO only allows 703 mb to be burned (mode 1). Therefore, in order to succesfull burn an x(s)vcd in NERO it must be less than or equal to 703 mb.

Also, if anybody knows of another way or software to burn larger than 703 x(s)vcd's please post it. Thanks :)

Post a log file. It sounds as if something is going wrong. Try to do it from one that you created and image with.

I realise that i've posted this question on the wrong forum. It's more like a general question which has nothing to do with dvd2svcd. Sorry about that.

Actually i created the mpeg with TMPEG, and i am just not able to burn it to 1 cd for some weird reason...

It sometimes happens for me too. Run TMPGEnc, go to MPEG Tools and Simple Multiplex this file once again. Should be fine then.

I multiplexed it with simple multiplex but i can still not burn it :(

The mpeg is still just as big and nero just doesn't wanna burn it...

Did you multiplex it with SVCD MPEG-2 or did you just do VBR MPEG-2? From the looks of it, it's doing extra padding, hence the extra 100mbs. Try using the SVCD template.

It's a VBR MPEG2... i didn't know it would cause trouble. I don't really know the difference between a SVCD mpeg2 and a VBR mpeg2 in terms of size on a cd.

When multiplexing, you should use MPEG-2 Super VideoCD (VBR) to not get that extra 100MBs of padding. I'm not sure on the difference, but SVCD adds something different to the stream. In any case, I would use bbMPEG to multiplex my SVCD.

Are you loading the mpg directly into nero or buring a disc image with nero?

If you are loading it dierectly into nero try using vcdimager or vcdeasy to create an image file first and then burn the image file with nero.

It might help and it might not. I don't use the xsvcd format so i'm not sure.

I tried bbmpeg and the mpg is 3MB smaller now, but burning it in Nero still doesn't work. I also made an image of this mpg with vcdimager, but i couldn't burn it either. Still the same error :(

What kind of image did vcdimager create? If it created a bin/cue or iso you chould try mounting it in daemon tools and see if it works.

It works perfectly. The only problem is that it doesn't fit on 1 disc. The videofile on the mounted disc is 915MB...
