Audio conversion to high quality

this may as well be teh dumbest post ever made , but i had to clear it up ;)



i capture from powervcr , stereo at 228 kbps , now still the sound is not so clear as it comes with the friends episodes and other stuff u get from kazaalite or mirc , is it like they GET their programs in dolby , or is it that after capture u can convert it to high quality(yes this questin challenges my iq) , just wanted to know this

i tried the option in virtualdub to convert to 44100 khz , stereo , high quality conversion , but not much change though

You cannot gain quality that has been lost due to lossless codecs, the best you can hope for is what you have. Short of some pretty fancy equalizer combinations to decrease noise and such, you're pretty much out of luck and stuck with what you've got.....you get what you pay for i guess. That's why most people here like to "brew their own".
