Why No one answers to my question!!! there is a sound prob with xvid!

I have tested 100 times, and different Builds.
With all the new builds of xvid I can not capture when I set the audio
format to PCM uncompressed 44khz 16 bit stereo or 48khz 16 bit stereo!!!

Now you may say its has nothing to do with Xvid!!! then why if i use the
older builds like the stable build XviD.Root.27.11.2002.0020.exe I do not
have any such problem? and it happens only with the new builds?

With the new builds when setting the audio to 48 or 44khz pcm when I run
iuvcr I get this error: "04:28:44:62 ERROR: acmFormatSuggest (error code 00000200)"

Then when I open xvid settings, in the debug tab in "frame drop ratio" its set to
48000!!!! if I reset it to "0" my captures become corupt!

I also tried with divx5.02, divx 4 divx 3.12 and there is no such problem.

Now even if I AM DOING something wrong! please tell me what this is!
I really need your help on this.

My xvid settings:
1Pass-CBR
1700kbps
quantization type:H.263
four cc XVID
no b frame and no other options used and everything else left to default.

Whatever program you're using is buggy - it's overwriting some of XviD's variables with data from other areas (or just garbage).

There's nothing XviD can do about that - if a program start wildly changing internal variables, there's no way to know that it wasn't requested by the user.

xvid has nothing to do with sound. xvid is a video codec. You or your program is the culprit. xvid works quite well and many users on here will agree.

He is using Iuvcr. IMO this program is crap. See if it doesn't work with virtualdub capture mode.

iuVCR is buggy and has a few issues...
I have noticed weird things happening with it and only lots of trouble shooting and tweaking and some luck did I figure it out.

Major bug is how it handles settings with the codec
and it does/can have audio sync problems where as AVI_IO has never gave me audio sync problems.


Still capturing using Mpeg4/DivX/XviD is not the norm here so keep testing and learning ;)

Thanx for your your replys :) at least now some light shed on this for me.
After reading your postings I tried the same thing with other software, vdub
and showshifter and with non I had this problem!

But still what surprises me is why with the older builds of xvid and Iuvcr
such thing dose not happen!
I am very intrested in Iuvcr because of it's possibility to use an on the fly
deinterlace filter and xvid is for me the most powerfull codec for direct capturing
and the quality I get with this codec is incomparable with other codecs.

I just sent an e-mail to the author of iuvcr explaining the problem and hopfully
he will try to fix it.
In the mean time if anyone comes up with a workarround to fix this problem please
let me know about it.

I doubt there's any workaround - XviD has a rather large "state" set of data, and is probably overflowing a fixed buffer somewhere in Iuvcr.

Thank you very much for ur valuable help and presence.
infact I am a little alone and left out, because I need to capture
directly to compressed avi (xvid) and not convert.

I found a software called virtualVCR that dose all what IUvcr did for me and the problem I was having is also fixed.

Also all my excuses to the Xvid team, as I said bug in xvid, but the bug was from another software.

God thanx now me 2 can use and try new builds of xvid :)
